Description
Winemaker Patrick Sullivan created a unique style, producing an elegant Pinot Noir that reflects the best qualities of the vineyard site. This wine originated from a steep hillside vineyard high above the town of Occidental, a site known for producing wines with incredible intensity and structure. The main clone selected from this site is a Pommard clone, and it provides tremendous strength. A small percentage of fruit from a vineyard located in an extreme growing area near Annapolis was added to bring out a little spice and verve.
The wine is rich, round and elegant and full of dark berry cherry fruits that slowly evolve to reveal savory notes of spice and grilled meats. Great structure and plenty of acid and tannins help frame the wine, revealing layers of complexity with a long rich, elegant, and lovely finish. It is a serious wine for the serious collector, and it promises to be the centerpiece of any occasion. Alcohol 14.8%.
Only 125 cases handcrafted, $85 per bottle, minimum (3) three-bottle order.
